Self-priming pumps evacuate air from the pump, allowing fluid to rise up and enter the pump. Gear pumps and diaphragm pumps have self-priming functions, but centrifugal pumps do not.

Centrifugal pumps generate centrifugal force through the rotation of the impeller to drive the liquid to run. The liquid level needs to be higher than the height of the pump impeller, so there is no self-priming function. Customers should take it into consideration when designing, pay attention to installation conditions, and we can provide suggestions if necessary. If the design must be self-priming, gear pumps or diaphragm pumps can be considered.
